AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – September 14, 2016 – Nexteer Automotive, a global leader in intuitive motion control, today announced the appointment of Michael P. Richardson as president following a brief tenure as interim president and chief operating officer. Richardson will also retain his previous title of executive board director. The company also promotes Nexteer veteran, Tao Liu, to senior vice president and global chief operating officer. Both appointments will be effective October 1, 2016

Earlier this month, Richardson, 60, was named interim president and global chief operating officer following the departure of Laurent Bresson.
Richardson, a 42-year company veteran, will continue to advance the productive agenda set by Nexteer’s Board of Directors, maintaining a seamless continuation of the company’s success.

Liu, 51, has served as Nexteer’s vice president, chief operating officer – Asia Pacific Division. He was responsible for the Asia Pacific division through a period of expansive growth, delivering unprecedented levels of regional autonomy. Liu joined the company in 2006 as China operations manager of Delphi Steering.
